S. A. P. TOUR X-Treme 2007

For the first time in the history of SAP Tour
the X-Treme event took place in a hotel for 6 nights.

With 22 machines and 31 participants the 3rd SAP Tour X-treme
got started on the 29th July. This time round there were nine different nationalities taking part on the X. Belgian, Dutch, English, French, Luxembourg, Swedish, Swiss, Polish & American and although most of the participants new one another from different tours and rally's from around Europe over the years, it didn't take long for the X to take shape and participants found their pace and group companions.

Some Of The X-treme Sappers
I believe that all the folks you see below genuinely enjoyed the challenge of the 2007 SAP Tour X-treme and judging by the majority of the expressions on most of the faces here tells their story…….Well maybe a few were under the influence at the time but who cares. It was a pleasure to tour with them and spend many a pleasurable evening over a few jars re-living the days up’s and down’s through the Alps.

THE X-TREME GARAGE & PIT STOP
Some things never fail to surprise me and after 20 odd years of touring even experienced riders find themselves in the situation where their brake pads and tyres are completely shot! In times like this riders make the use of the most basic situations and to adapt to the circumstances with a little team work to get their machines road worthy again. Here below you can see some of the make shift garage utilities and also some weird and wonderful pieces of scrap iron!

SAP X-TRAIN!
This years X-treme put riders on the tracks and some found themselves in a new environment. It took some skill to manoeuvre the big tourers into the carriage space on the train. Not all of the riders got off the train scott free without experiencing a problem or two……Even my machine fell off its side stand and left Lars with a nice scratch in his paint work!….It cost me a few beers that night…Sorry Lars!

SAP X-FERRY GOOD
No sea-sickness amongst the riders here. This day saw us on a lake ferry crossing in bad weather. The deck of the ship was quite slippy but fortunately no one went down.
Some riders even found time to tour the harbour gardens and visit the nice sculptures there!
SAP X-TREME ON THE ROAD
Here are a selection of riders pictures from around this years tour routes. As you can see there was a variable degree in the change of weather throughout the tour and quite a good selection of these pictures will give you a great impression of the land scape and roads we toured through.
SAP -X-TREME PASS POINTS
One of the most desirable pictures riders claim on their journeys are shots of the roadside pass signs. Some even have bullet holes through them!…The signs that is!

The Final Tour Pictures
All good things come to an end and here are just a few of the final evening pictures of all the folks……more pictures to come as some are not to clear…..Probably due to the amount of fresh ice tea drunk that evening!!!
