R.I.P.
JULIETTE FAVRE

Version Française

It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Juliette Favre. She was the boss lady of the campsite in Martigny where SAP Tour was based for 8 years from 1991 to 1998. We always had a great welcome and it was an excellent base for SAP Tour.

I sorrow at the passing of Juliette (JuJu) Favre.

I also rejoice in her memory and that of Rene her husband who preceded her.

JuJu was my “second mother” in Valise and she with Rene “Qui Qui” took me under their wings and treated me like part of their own family. With their help and that of their daughter Marie and her two sons Thierry and Christian and family and friends, they all helped me to carry the burden of running the SAP Tour for the 8 continuous years on the TCS camping in Martigny.

Not only did JuJu and Rene Favre extend their hospitality as hosts of the base camp for the tours but they and their family also welcomed me in to their midst and I became part of their family on all occasions, some sad most happy. The weddings, birthday parties of son’s daughters, the birth of grandchildren, numerous fetes in Valais and I even had the opportunity to work on the camping as well as the Foire de Valais. I still have a remaining friendship with you all today and a great part of your kindness, warmth and hospitality was the main reason why I have now chosen to live and make my home here in the beautiful Valais amongst you.

I thank you JuJu and Rene, Marie, Thierry, Christian, and all the family Favre and relations and friends for giving me that starting chance into your world and into your hearts.

You are gone JuJu but not forgotten.

I also wish to add my thoughts and condolences at this sad time.

I partook in the SAP Tour for every year that it was based in Martigny most of them for both of the years tours. I also was fortunate enough to have two much longer stays at the TCS campsite staying in a caravan on site for the summer. I too became a part of the family and was awarded the great privilege of being allowed to sit at the boss lady's table in the onsite cafe. It is difficult to describe the incredible warmth and friendship that I was given by the family Farvre, I can only echo Jed's statement

Gone but not forgotten
you'll be forever in my heart.
